Weight I will kill you.

Why do I want to eat everything in sight right now?

I got up and went to the gym this morning- only to stretch and come back home.  I didn't feel like doing cardio in the gym yet again.  I've been tempted to go to a yoga class today but I don't want to spend the money to take one class (they usually cost around $15/class around here and I've been contemplating it but haven't been able to pull the trigger FOR ONE CLASS).  It has been raining nonstop here in So Cal for (it seems like) weeks.  At least a week for sure.  Which means all workouts move indoors for me.  Which means I burn out quickly.  I can only do stairmaster for so long before I begin to hate it.

I've been eating on point- working out for an hour or more a day (cardio for an hour); doing everything I can to get ready to go home to Tulsa and see family and friends.  Drinking all my water, shaving all my hair off my body, applying fake tanner liberally, etc etc etc.  The scale and I are in a full blown war over things.  It does not want to budge and I'm mildly pissed at it over the whole thing.  Part of me just wants to give up.  I have loved that I've lost weight since kicking sugar- I have NOT loved that I've also plateaued and can't seem to keep losing.  I got down to 138.6 and have stayed here for about a month - a month and a half.  I'm basically eating fruits, veggies, protein (sometimes in the form of flesh, sometimes in the form of tofurkey or other protein).  I have whole grains for breakfast; that's about it.  I go to bed hungry every night.  I'm drinking boat loads of water.  WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO.

Come off stupid weight. COME OFF.

Don't get me wrong- I like the way I look. 138.6 doesn't look too shabby on me.  It would be cool to just cinch the rope a little tighter, that's all.  But my body is not cooperating and other than starving I'm at my wits end as to what to do about it. I'm journaling too: here's 2 excerpts from the last two days (from my journal)

So what's the problem?  All of this work with no reward is sending me into a tizzy.  Okay- not really.  I really just wanted to complain for a few minutes.  Thanks for listening.

Have a great day friends- let's hope something happens today (as far as this weight thing goes)

  1. Dizzy, I wish I had some good suggestions for you. The only comments I could offer is that even though you have cut the sugar, you are still getting more carbs than I am doing on my plan. I would log the carbs, see how many you are getting and I would up the protein. Breakfast looks good but even that small amount of carbs might be setting you up for wanting more. I would add some protein to breakfast in your place. Maybe an egg or low fat ham or turkey. Sometimes the vegetable proteins have carb fillers. I wish you the best. We all have stalls though and sometimes the only thing we can do it wait them out. :)

  2. Ok sweetie, first off your diet looks awesome! You eat super clean! I like that!

The only thing from looking at your entries is MAYBE...just maybe you are eating a tiny bit too much fat. I realize what fat you do eat is healthy fat. But you had nuts and butter (I love yogurt butter BTW!) at breakfast and nuts as a snack one day and then the next you had nuts and avocado. I know that just half of an avocado is loaded with fats.

Maybe cut back to eating one serving of nuts a day.

Other than that I don't see what the problem could possibly be. You might just have to accept that your body likes where it is. I would kill to be in the 130's (seriously!)

    Hope this helps!

    smooches!

  3. I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!!!! (you know this) I can totally relate to.. "I go to bed hungry every night..."

The only suggestion I have is for you to try and get more protein, good oil and calcium in there too... but what do I know? I am stuck in the same boat.

  5. Want more conflicting advice? LOL

I looked at what you're eating and guesstimated calories...

I don't think you're taking in enough calories. You appear to be hitting around 1000 calories per day, which while do-able, can actually have a negative effect on weight loss when you have 20 or fewer pounds to lose. I don't know how tall you are, but I'm 5'-7", 145-ish pounds, and forty years old, and I find that I still lose weight at between 1350 and 1450 calories per day, whereas if I fall much below that, my weight loss stalls.

If you're comfortable with the amount you're eating (although going to bed hungry is a sign you may not be), you could instead/ also mess with upping your protein a bit. Your fats are high but healthy, so my thought would be egg or egg white, or other lean protein options.

Just tweak at it and keep going. Eventually you'll hit on what your body needs :)
